There are actually two Pompano Joe’s restaurants, but both are located along the Emerald Coast. The original location first opened its doors in 1995 and is situated between Miramar Beach and Destin. But this location proved to be so popular that a second location – this one located in Panama City Beach near Pier Park – was opened in 2013.

Both locations are relatively similar, so you should feel free to visit whichever one is most convenient during your Florida vacation adventure. With that said, there are subtle differences between the two, so many visitors enjoy making time to check both locations out.

Pompano Joe’s Seafood House Menu

While both restaurants offer very similar menu items, including several identical dishes, there are some differences between the two. We’ll share some of the highlights and can’t-miss items from each location below.

Pompano Joe’s Menu (Destin)

Pompano Joe’s is famous for its fresh seafood, and the Destin menu is overflowing with great choices. Start by ordering one of their delicious appetizers (we recommend the reggae rolls), before moving on to your entrée. They offer a variety of freshly caught selections, including grouper, snapper, yellow-fin tuna, and mahi-mahi, which you can order chargrilled, blackened, or fried.

If you’d prefer shellfish, you’ll definitely want to check out their 1.5-pound snow crab feast, though the sea scallops, fried oysters, and jumbo shrimp are also worthy of consideration. With all of that said, their Miramar Fish & Shrimp plate is one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, and features mahi-mahi and jumbo gulf shrimp, topped with a crawfish cream sauce.

Pompano Joe’s also has a variety of items for land lovers, ranging from chicken tenders to blackened ribeyes to Jamaican jerk chicken. They also offer soups, salads, sandwiches, vegetarian options, and a kid’s menu, so there is definitely something for everyone!

Just be sure to save room for dessert – their creamy coconut cake is simply marvelous!

Pompano Joe’s Menu (Panama City Beach)

The Panama City Beach menu is pretty similar to the menu offered at the Destin location, but some items are a bit more popular at this location than the other.

You’ll still want to start with an appetizer. Patrons rave about the coral reef nachos, but you can never go wrong with an order of oysters on the half shell. You’ll notice that this location doesn’t offer the Miramar Fish & Shrimp combo, but they do have a seafood sampler platter that is pretty similar.  Featuring broiled mahi-mahi, jumbo Gulf shrimp, scallops, and a mini crab cake, you’ll be dreaming about it long after your vacation is over.

You can also order ribeyes, chicken tenders, chicken fettuccine and other items from dry land if seafood isn’t your thing, and they also offer a variety of soups, sandwiches, and salads for those looking for a lighter option. They also offer a children’s menu and a variety of gluten-free options too.

We think the creamy coconut cake at this location is also scrumptious, but don’t sleep on the chocolate overload cake – it’s a doozie!

Other Things to Love About Pompano Joe’s: Outdoor Seating & Souvenirs!

While Pompano Joe’s certainly has awesome food and great happy hour specials, it’s more than just a restaurant – it is also a great place to enjoy the great Florida weather! Both locations have outdoor seating areas available. The Destin location has a large outdoor deck that overlooks the beach (as well as an indoor seating area with beach-facing windows), while the Panama City Beach location features two outdoor dining areas – one at ground level and the other on the second story.

You can also grab some great souvenirs when you visit. In addition to typical beach-town offerings like sunglasses and hats, they sell great-looking T-shirts in an array of colors.

Just be sure to stop by the large shark statue in front of the Panama City Beach location and take your own Pompano Joe’s photos!

The Pompano Joe’s Beach Cam

One of the neatest things about the Destin Pompano Joe’s location is the beach cam mounted right outside the restaurant. Operated by Old98Destin.com, the camera faces the beach and gives you a look at the surf, white sands, and people in the area.

Best of all, you can even control the camera from your computer; you can pan left or right, zoom in or out, and even check out archived footage. It also features a handy “share” function, so you can send clips to your friends.
